I am pleased to present the plan for street furniture installations in York Center in 2020 and onwards. After gathering suggestions from the public, Business Improvement Areas, residents’ associations and other stakeholders, city staff put together this plan to install street furniture including transit shelters, litter receptacles, benches and bicycle parking to make York Centre more livable.
Elements are selected based on requests from the public, Business Improvement Areas, residents’ associations, and other stakeholders. Each request is reviewed by staff to ensure it is feasible according to various placement guidelines, such as the Council-approved Vibrant Streets guidelines.
