The City of Toronto is upgrading the storm sewer system in your area in order to reduce surface and basement flooding. Due to the depth and nature of the storm sewer construction work on Shaftesbury Street, the road will be closed between Waterloo Avenue and Brighton Avenue, effective 7 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021.
This project is part of the Council-approved 2021 Basement Flooding Protection Program to improve the water distribution system; renew our aging infrastructure and reduce the risk of sewer collapse or blockages that cause sewer backups and flooding.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve your local infrastructure. If you have any questions about this project, please do not hesitate to contact my office by phone at 416-392-1371 or by email councillor_pasternak@toronto.ca.
