Bike Share

In the Summer of 2020, six Bike Share docking stations were installed across the Finch Hydro corridor as part of a pilot, seeing the expansion of Bike Share in Downsview - York Centre!

During the pilot, many felt 30 minutes was too short to get around, so we've asked City Council to extend your ride to 45 minutes!

Extending Your Ride to 45 Minutes

During the September 30, 2020, Toronto City Council meeting, Councillor Pasternak asked staff about increasing the "overcharge threshold" for Bike Share Toronto from 30 minutes to 45 minutes or more to support longer trips across the growing network, notably in the areas where distances between stations is longer. In addition, we requested an option for a more accessible option for low-income residents.

We're excited to announce that at their next meeting, the Toronto Parking Authority will vote to implement a pilot for a 45-minute annual membership for a one (1) year period commencing on July 1st, 2021!

If successful, Bike Share will also carry out a review of the rates and rate structure of the Bike Share Toronto program, including the feasibility of including a program for low-income residents!
